King Mohammed VI ordered «بالعمل على تخطيط القرآن العظيم في مصحف شريف يحمل اسم المصحف المحمدي», “the writing of the Glorious Qur’an in a noble muṣḥaf bearing the name al-Mushaf al-Muhammadi”, and Mohamed Maalmine wrote it at the request of the Ministry of Habous. The review committee attested at its end that it is written and vocalised «برواية ورش عن نافع من طريق أبي يعقوب الأزرق», “in the reading of Warsh from Nafiʿ by way of Abu Yaʿqub al-Azraq”. The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Publication of the Holy Qur’an prints about a million copies a year for the mosques of Morocco, the mosques of Moroccans abroad and the countries that read in the Warsh tradition.

Printed, not manuscript. We included it because its calligrapher is known and the date of the order for it is certain.
